Ikenobo Hong Kong Chapter held its 5th Anniversary Celebration at Exhibition Hall of Hong Kong City Hall from 1st to 3rd December 2018.

 

In the Exhibition, the Headmaster Sen’ei Ikenobo and Professor Mizumasa Toyota displayed Rikka-shimputai ikebana arrangement. Also, the members of Ikenobo Hong Kong Chapter created 136 different ikebana works from classical Rikka to modern Free-style. All of the arrangements colored the Hall and attracted the visitors including Mr. Kuninori Matsuda, the Ambassador and Consul-General of Japan in Hong Kong and Mrs. Matsuda. In the two and half days of Exhibition period, 4515 people came to visit the Exhibition.

 

In the opening ceremony on 1st December, the Headmaster described that ikebana is not for sale. Ikebana is been passed down from teachers to students and their students by generations. Therefore, people who learn ikebana must follow in their teachers’ footsteps and cherish the path of ikebana.

 

The lecture and demonstration by the Headmaster and Reishiki-ike by Professor Toyoda was held on 2nd December. Mr. Kuninori Matsuda, the Ambassador and Consul-General of Japan in Hong Kong and Mrs. Matsuda also came to appreciate the demonstration. The Headmaster explained the spirit of Ikenobo ikebana in an easy-understanding and humor way. All of the 360 full house audiences enjoyed the demonstration and gave their favorable review.

 

The demonstration by Professor Toyoda for the Special Members of Ikenobo Society of Floral Art was took place on 3rd December. All the Special Members learned a lot form the demonstration and had a fruitful day.
