Ambassador Shiro Sadoshima held a dinner for Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on 10th July 2017 at ambassador’s residence. After the dinner, an Ikenobo ikebana demonstration was conducted by Mrs. Yukiko Tokue, an instructor of Ikenobo Bangkok Chapter.
Mrs. Tokue attended the Classroom of Prof. Moribe in Ikenobo Central Training Institute, Kyoto and accepted Prof. Moribe’s coaching of Rikka Shofuputai. For the demonstration, Mrs. Tokue order the flower materials, such as Veitch’s silver-fir which cannot be seen in Thailand and brought them back to Thailand.
During the demonstration, Mrs. Tokue arranged Rikka Shofutai, Rikka Shimputai and Free Style. She introduced the nature of Japan through Rikka Shofutai and described the spirits of diligence, honesty and inner strength of Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn by Rikka Shimputai. And the Princess actually arranged the Free Style using a basket from Japan with Mrs. Tokue and brought the arrangement back.
After the demonstration, the Princess said “I bought flowers which cannot for sale anymore from the flower farmers and decorated them at home in Chiangmai every day before.”
The Princess, Ambassador Shiro Sadoshima and every one viewed the demonstration enjoyed a pleasant moment.
