Ms. Non Miyahara, Second year at Ikenobo Junior College

Oriental bittersweet represent my anxiety and emotional conflict under challenging situation now, and I used a plant with straight line on the center of my work to show the hope for the future and my ambition. Like a Monstera leaf on the work, I was always supported my family and friends, they made me who I am today. As it said in the flower word of prairie gentian, I believe for the bright future and always do my best.

✿The Third Place✿

Mr. Hideki Kosugi, Second year at Ikenobo Junior College

Theme: cold wind

Style: Shoka

Floral Material: aspidistra, red willow, prairie gentian

Comment from Mr. Kosugi

I arranged a shoka shimputai work under theme of “cold wind” of the late autumn and early winter. Aspidistra leaves seems hit by a cold wind and withered, but they still alive. I tried to express their toughness. Express wind by using line of red willow branches, and winter to come on its white buds. A flower of prairie gentian gave me an image that they survive harsh condition and live to the fullest.
