The influence of COVID-19 has affected the world more than 2 years since 2020. Ikebana exhibitions, workshops, and all activities we have planned in Japan or overseas have been postponed or cancelled. It means many Ikenobo members lost their opportunity to practice ikebana. However, many overseas members started holding or participating in lessons online even during this challenging time.
In order to promote ikebana abroad, Ikenobo Society of Floral Art started the new membership system and resumed the overseas visiting professors from this April. However, although more countries are relaxing the COVID-19 restrictions, the situation still hasn’t returnedd to the time before the pandemic. Taking this opportunity, we held the Online Ikebana Competition “Ikenobo World Cup” to make more overseas members can participate in the event held by the Headquarters together.
Among all members of 120 overseas Chapters and Study Groups, 105 Special Members and 71 Regular Members from 16 countries and areas participated in the Competition during 1st April to 30th June.
Here we would like to announce the members who won the top 5 Prizes of Special Member Section and Regular Member Section.
